 Designing a parking structure to fit in the midst of historic downtown Cheyenne, Wyoming with adjacent buildings built during the 1880s frontier days was a significant challenge. The site is bounded by the first paved transcontinental highway, and is literally feet from the Union Pacifics right-of-way for the first transcontinental railroad. Although intended to be used for the 21st century automobile and built with 21st century materials and technology, the structure reflects the historical significance of its location. The team of Walker Parking Consultants and Coates-Clary Architects designed a very attractive 717 space garage that fits well within this environment. |
