I think in general sustainability is important, so also in the parking industry. It won't take long to get sustainable certificates for all the materials used in parking. Furthermore, you can already see this if you take a look at the lighting solutions for carparks. Safe energy or even use solar technology. This solartechnology is already used for a long time in on-street parking.

I am very surprised by the turnout in this poll; In my opinion the parking business should reflect the innovative and creative attitude towards this issue:

Environmental sustainability is highly important for the parking business - Not only because it is necessary to comply with regulations of the municipalities and purchase environmental-friendly assets (illumination as the biggest here), but also because it is likely that it will be a competitive parametre in the future.
Many parking operators make contracts for more than 20 years and within this time electric cars will be a very common sight (especially in large cities). Parking operators should embrace this as an opportunity and introduce chargers in the car parks. The benefits will be that parking companies will be entering a new market, be part of forefront development/innovation and successfully support the effort to protect environment.
