This position will serve as a member of the senior management team, providing a technology lens to all departmental operations to help inform purchasing, changes, upgrades, equipment and implementation needs. Individual will also assist with departmental goals, budget planning and planning to improve overall functioning of the department. Individual will supervise IT Coordinator, Programmer and Data Enty section and the primary focus of the unit will be to maintain and administer all IT related operations. This includes but is not limited to: installing and configuring of PC software and hardware, connecting of PCs to servers and mainframe network, providing maintenance, backup to include disaster recovery operation and security of data, software, and hardware, networking PC's with departmental intranet, installing and configuring remote access software, installation and administering the server as it relates to transportation services, troubleshooting and diagnosing daily hardware and softwarwe problems. Ensures virus protection and PC access restrictions. Establishes timelines for projects and identifies priorities with assignments. Oversees the management of the Data Entry Section. To manage the T2 Systems PowerPark Flex database and to ensure all tasks are completed as scheduled which includes application upgrades, handheld administration, security management, administration of exported data from Flex to the mainframe, administration of PowerPark Flex Task Scheduler to ensure that tasks run to completion and are successful and developmental reports using Crystal Report 1X. Work with OIT (Office of Information Technology), Oracle Database Administration. Responsible for the management of the McGann software. Responsible for developing queries of RDBMS (Relational Data Base Management System) and mainframe databases using BrioQuery to provide data analysis. Oversee development of internet technologies to include but not limited to campus parking map and applications. Manages GIS development. Manages SQL and Access database development, maintenance and administration. Maintains computer inventory of hardware, software and compliance with software licensing.
Serves on departmental and campus-wide IT and other University committees. Ability to quickly learn and understand job procedures, policies and responsibilities. Someone who keeps up-to-date technically and can act as a resource person on whom others can rely. Excellent managerial, administrative and organizational skills and is also a self starter, flexible, and has a positive attitude. Can communicate well with a variety of employees, college personnel and campus visitors. Ability to develop knowledge of DOTS' and University policies and procedures, detailed knowledge of the physical layout of the campus and DOTS' computer programs, T2 systems, PowerPark Flex and the University's computer systems. This position requires excellent analytical and problem solving skills. Should be proactive in addressing changes in technology and departmental technology needs. Excellent decision making skills as well as verbal and written communication skills are a must. The ability to demonstrate and promote excellent service oriented customer service skills, particularly with meeting internal customer needs. Ability to manage financial resources including determining how money will be spent to get the work done, and accounting for these expenditures. Performs other duties as may be assigned. |

| Bachelor's Degree required. minimum 4 years experience in Information Technology management and administration minimum three years progressive experience in a responsible supervisory/managerial position Microsoft System Engineer Certification as well as experience in higher education setting preferred. To maintain and administer all Information Technology related operations for the Department of Transportation Services. |
