The City of Lincoln, Nebraska (pop. 250,000) is looking for an Executive Director of unified parking services to transform our system from a business model designed to profitably meet known and projected needs to a strategic model that merges parking into larger urban planning and economic development goals with a customer service based management style. |

Parking responsibilities are being transferred from Public Works/Utilities Department to the Urban Development Department with off-street and on-street operations being merged. The Executive Director will oversee the reorganization of the parking operations that manages a private contractor relationship and insures customer based management at every level. The director will evaluate and implement operational improvements and strategic thinking. Lincoln has 7 facilities (4300 stalls) with 1 in the planning stage, approximately 3800 on-street parking spaces (3100 metered), and 11 surface lots (480 spaces), and an annual budget of $5 million.
Desired: Bachelors degree in business or public administration, business management, or related field and demonstrated success managing a parking department, authority, or private parking company; the ability to motivate personnel, skilled financial and operational management, and ability to deal with customer needs. Experience working within a municipal environment is helpful. Executive Director will be part of the Urban Development Department , but will be designated as Administrative Assistant to the Mayor. Salary DOQ (max of $100,000).
