Director of TransportationUSCs Auxiliary Services is seeking a Director of Transportation to join its award-winning team!
 
Job Accountabilities
 
Responsible for planning and managing the unit budget, providing customer service to faculty, students and staff, overseeing the recruitment, hiring and training process, development and implementation of policies and procedures, ensuring unit compliance with all university policies and procedures, developing and implementing communication plan for unit, and overseeing maintenance and upgrades for unit facilities.

Through the direction of 4 Associate Directors, 120 full-time employees and 80+ student employees, this position manages the operations of over 17,000 parking spots, 24 bus routes, 40 on-demand transit units (Campus Cruiser), 8 Enforcement units and 40 Gate Ambassadors. All of these operations function daily and must be coordinated for an additional 75+ special events. These events include sporting and academic events, outside functions and commencement. In addition, the Director will be responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with key contacts such as, Department of Public Safety, Student Affairs, Office of the General Counsel, external vendors, Los Angeles Department of Transportation, LAPD and Metro South Coast AQMD.

Works closely with the University and state and federal Transportation agencies to ensure Trojan Transportation is providing the safest, most efficient and customer-oriented services possible.

Meets customer needs, offers options, resolves problems, and follows up with customers. Ensures full customer satisfaction without unnecessarily referring customer to other staff members. Maintains helpful, friendly demeanor.

Maintains currency with professional organizations and publications. Attends and participates in meetings, conferences, etc. Represents University and/or division as assigned or as appropriate.
Qualifications
 
Bachelors degree and 5 years management level experience in a University Auxiliary Services division
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Masters Degree and 10 years USC Auxiliary Services management level experience.
