The CPA has developed a Canadian-based training program that addresses the training needs of front-line supervisors and management teams. Based on the National Parking Associations Certified Parking Facility Manager program, but with relevant Canadian content, the program is a self-directed course that can be studied over a period of up to six months at the students convenience.
What You Will Learn
The Study guide is broken down into twelve chapters covering the key areas listed below. Students can study each chapter at their own pace. This study guide is the how to reference for students, even after the course is completed. The content areas are: Operations (types; design; regulations; loss prevention; equipment; safety), Revenue Control (accounting; auditing), Human Resources, Customer Service, Marketing & Administration, and Maintenance.
Recognized Industry Standard
Successful applicants will be qualified as a Canadian Certified Parking Facility Manager and are entitled to use the designation of CCPFM. The designation is well known in the United States (CPFM) and has become a respected standard from which to measure the knowledge and understanding that candidates have of the parking industry. Similar to the success of the NPA program, this standard is recognized and respected in the Canadian market.
The Exam
A computerized or paper/pencil examination service is administered by Professional Credential Services and offered at approximately 100 LaserGrade test centres across Canada. The 150-question, multiple-choice test is administered during a 3.5 hour testing session. The applicant picks the date and time for the exam, thus ensuring proper preparation. Sample questions are provided throughout the study guide, and each participant receives a practice test to try before the final exam.
Maintaining Your Canadian Certified Parking Facility Manager (CCPFM) Certification
Certification is valid for 3 years, after which time, re-certification is required. This ensures that the professional designation maintains is validity in the market. Recertification is achieved by completing and accumulating three points from any combination of the following exercises within a three year period, starting from the date of certification.

- Present a paper at the annual Conference & Trade Show*
1 point each:
- Attend the annual Conference & Trade Show*
- Participate on a local Conference host committee*
- Conduct a Parking Professional Primer (PPP) training session with your staff*
- Develop/coordinate parking industry related training (webinars, seminars etc) with your staff (supervisor confirmation required)

- Participate in a District Chapter meeting *
- Recruit new member to CPA *
- Submit a nomination for the annual Canadian Parking Foundation Awards *
- Participate in industry related training (supervisor confirmation required)
- Participate in industry related events / conferences (supervisor confirmation required)
- Initiate CPA forums discussions
- Chapter Chairperson and/or Committee Chair
- Committee member
- Be a member in good standing (maintain continuous membership).

NON-MEMBERS:
- Per Course: $695.00 + membership fee

Certification Process

- Schedule your exam with us within 6 months of registration.
- Take the exam and become certified.
