RingGo parking for train commuters

RingGo parking for train commuters A new cashless system has been rolled-out by train operator First Great Western to 63 of its car parks. The RingGo system allows commuters to pay for their car parking via their mobile phone.
Following the success of the trial undertaken at Bristol Parkway of RingGo by APCOA (the chosen parking enforcement contractors of First Great Western) a full rollout to 63 of the busiest stations has taken place.

Each parking session is charged directly to the customer's credit or debit card, and there is an added "convenience fee" of 20p. RinGo lets drivers make a local phonecall in which they give their vehicle details, car park location and payment information.

The company say the scheme cuts down on queues, coins and tickets - and business travellers can even claim VAT receipts online.

First Great Western's Commercial Director, Tom Stables, said: "RingGo is already proving to be a great time saver for our customers as they can now make the call while walking from car to platform." he added: "One innovative aspect of RingGo is that a parking session can be extended by making a simple phone call, from wherever you are. This is great when a meeting overruns or the partys too good to leave."
