BPA Autumn Seminar "Seeing Red - the Blue Badge Scheme"
This well established one day event is designed to bring together parking professionals to network, debate issues, exchange ideas and keep up-to-date with the latest product and services.
An exhibition runs alongside the seminar, which provids delegates with an excellent opportunity to view the latest products and services on offer in the industry.
What the seminar will cover:
This years seminar will be tackling the perennial debate: How successful is the Blue Badge Scheme? With 2 million Blue badges in circulation in the UK is the scheme out of control? Two BPA Groups, NW and Scotland, have been looking into the scheme to identify what works and what doesnt. Come along to the seminar and discover their findings! In addition to these presentations the Head of Social Policy at the DFT will talk about the purpose of the Scheme and its intended benefits; a representative from Social services will expand on how the Scheme is administered at a local level, and we shall hear from parking and Police colleagues across the UK (Merseyside, Edinburgh, London, others). The day will culminate with a Forum style debate to focus the issues, identify potential solutions and deliver a Blue Badge Charter.
Who should attend:
This Seminar is aimed at everyone interested in the delivery of services to people with special mobility needs, its especially important to people involved in the management of parking, highways, traffic and streets in general. People in social services or other associated support services and policy makers will also benefit from attending and helping to shape the response of the parking sector to ensure that the Blue Badge delivers effective concessions to those that need them, and minimise the opportunity for misuse and abuse of this valuable concession by those who dont!
