British Parking Association -Autumn Seminar
This long standing BPA event is now being run in the Autumn due to the Parkex Exhibition being moved to April.
This year's seminar theme is Civil Enforcement - The Broader Picture "Joined up Thinking".
The introduction of Decriminalised Parking Enforcement (DPE) has catapulted the parking industry into the media spotlight. It has also demonstrated the effectiveness of civil enforcement in achieving improved compliance with parking regulations and, in London, with bus lane restrictions.
As proposals are rolled out to extend Local Authority powers to undertake civil enforcement into moving traffic offences, littering and beyond, this seminar gives delegates the opportunity to look outside their existing remit and prepare for the future, based on experiences gained to date.
Key to the future of DPE will be the planned Guidance Notes to be issued by Government later this year. A speaker from the DfT will outline current thinking and how the Guidance Notes will be prepared. This will be followed by the results of an independent review of DPE - which the BPA commissioned to advise the industry and government of the good bad and the ugly of the parking world.
We have assembled expert speakers to share their knowledge, experience, hints and tips on this crucial area for Local Government, so that experienced and new parking practitioners can comment, contribute, learn and benefit from those who have met challenges head on.
Who should attend?
Aimed at highway, traffic and street management specialists as well as parking departments, from parking managers and "back room" staff to front line officers, policy makers and operatives keen to see just how the new powers could apply to their Authority.
Most importantly, the BPA Autumn Seminar will offer a marvellous entrance into meeting other parking professionals to network, share experiences and test new ideas - a forum to gain reassurance and determinedly push the parking industry into the forefront of civil enforcement.
