A Quick June Round up of Updates in Virtual Conferences

In June our Parking Network Virtual Conference returned, we welcomed new members on board and continued our Quick Question series.

Our Parking Network Virtual Conference returned for a third edition this month with plenty of new faces taking to the stage to showcase their parking solutions. Attendees joined sessions dedicated to a range of products and services, including investment management, subcontracting, wayfinding, air purification, ANPR, frictionless payments, and contactless enforcement.

Following on from the second edition our blog posts delved deeper into Covid-19’s effect on municipalities in the United States and Europe. It was clear from our panelists that cities from both sides of the Atlantic had challenges in common but also made adaptations unique to their specific circumstances. Across the US and Europe parking enforcement was relaxed or halted entirely during lockdowns and parking was repurposed for a variety of reasons – in Europe, this focused more predominantly on creating extra space for pedestrians, whilst in the US on-street parking spaces were transformed into takeaway food pick-up lanes.

We also wrapped up our Quick Question: How Have You Adapted During the Covid-19 Pandemic. Throughout this Quick Question series, our parking professionals shared their experiences of working during lockdowns and told us what adaptations worked for them. We heard plenty about working from home, implementing social distancing measures in the workplace, and silver linings.

Caught on Camera

We welcomed our new member, Brother Mobile Solutions, to join us In the Spotlight and introduce what they have to offer the parking industry. Watch the short video to find out how their mobile printers are the ideal tool for reducing the workload of enforcement officers.

As lockdowns are lifted and restrictions eased in many countries around the world we have been asking our industry experts how they are responding to the lifting of Covid-19 measures.
