Are you in a hurry to catch your plane? Travellers at Dusseldorf Airport can soon save time by letting 'Ray' park their car!

Ray is the name of the robot that’s in charge of parking cars at Dusseldorf Airport in Germany. It's a forklift-like machine, fully insured and can lift up to 3 tonnes of weight. If you’re flying from Dusseldorf, you can book Ray in advance via a mobile app. You ride to the airport and leave your car in the designated area. Ray the robot, or one of his robot-colleagues, will pick the car up and park it in any of the 249 parking spaceas as soon as you confirm that the vehicle is empty. The costs to use the robot are 29 Euros a day.

Ray is developed and manufactured by the German company Serva Transport Systems. Thomas Koetter from Dusseldorf Airprot says the robot is specially designed for people who are in a hurry to get to their plane.
