Golden River

Golden River has been at the forefront of traffic monitoring for more than 25 years. We were the first company to introduce many innovations into this market. In 1978 the first low powered scanning loop detector enabled our clients to count at temporary sites with no mains power over 4 lanes of motorway. In 1982 we introduced the world's first traffic counter using a microprocessor. In 1994 we developed detector systems for the first mandatory fully automatic variable speed limit system on the UK's M25 motorway. Our international activities have enabled us to become familiar with technical progress and advanced traffic management methods throughout the world. We often represent our industry to government, make technical presentations on the state of the art, and represent the UK on international standardisation committees.
