As one of the world’s most advanced and reliable smart parking systems, it informs drivers where to find vacant parking spaces via smart phones or electronic street panels. Traffic density in the city centres is, therefore, reduced after Fastprk has been deployed, helping to create a greener city.

The system relies on embedded sensors in each parking bay in the street.
When a car parks over the sensor, it is detected and the sensor relays that information -wirelessly- to the gateway, which sends the information via the Internet to the database in real time.
One single gateway covers an area of about 1km.

Bitcarrier uses a strongly protected technology based on wireless sensors which scan Bluetooth and Wifi signals sent by mobile devices and vehicles within urban roads and motorways.
By using this anonymous data, the system audits traffic flux, which enables the managing authority to better manage the traffic flow depending on where the most congested roads are.
At the same time, the system provides drivers with real-time information about journey time.
In 2010-11 Bitcarrier was implemented along 1500 km of the Spanish motorways belonging to the Abertis Group. Thanks to the accurate real information provided by Bitcarrier, the Abertis Traffic Management Centre is now able to tackle incidents as soon as they arise, act promptly and even anticipate and prevent major traffic problems.
Currently, Bitcarrier is providing accurate travel time information for drivers through approximately 120 Variable Message Signs (VMS) used on the highways. Each VMS simultaneously displays up to three travel times so that any driver has accurate travel time information. Frequent users of the Abertis highways consider this information to be an extremely useful, value-added service provided by the highway operator.
Moreover, the information provided by the solution is the basis for the information of service levels published in the public website of the highway operator, and it can be checked from any PC or mobile device with Internet connectivity.
