Position Primary Purpose and General Responsibilities

The Accounts Supervisor supervises day to day processes, functions, and duties on both the academic (Monroe Park) and medical (MCV) campuses, to include financial reports, permit sales, process refunds, manage appeals, and document and resolve customer complaints. In addition, the Accounts Supervisor advises supervisor on best practices for university parking and assists in the development of departmental policies and procedures. 

Minimum Hiring Standards

VCU Facilities Management is seeking to hire an Accounts Supervisor within its Parking and Transportation unit. The position requires the following:

  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with major course work in accounting, finance, business/public administration, or related discipline, or equivalent in education and experience
  • Supervisory experience to include recruitment of staff, providing staff training, and working with team members to correct deficiencies and implement discipline procedures
  • Skilled in training or relevant work experience in customer service and office systems
  • Effective in resolving escalated customer driven issues
  • Knowledgeable in MS office, automated systems, and financial systems
  • Effective in interaction with both internal and external customers
  • Knowledge of general invoicing and account management or equivalent experience
  • Ability to manage all customer service duties on either campus
  • Capable of meeting deadlines without sacrificing quality
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and written
  • Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a staff member at VCU
  • Valid Virginia driver’s license in good standing

Preferred Hiring Standards

  • Experienced in VCU Parking and Transportation practices and procedures and knowledgeable of services and products offered
  • Prepare analytical and statistical reports from T2 concerning overall account operations and activities
  • Knowledge of VCU’s mission and value the VCU spirit

Required Licenses/ Certifications

  • Valid Virginia driver’s license in good standing


  • Anticipated Hiring Range $38,000 - $42,500
  • Hours/Week 40
  • Normal Work Days/Hours M-F, 8:00-5:00pm, some flexibility required
