The Focus of the Role

We are looking to recruit a commercially minded Operations Manager to lead and motivate the team and develop them to manage resources to deliver an effective and efficient business operation which will achieve the budgeted financial results and deliver a performance that consistently exceeds the service levels and KPI standards agreed with the client. Customer service is key to the success of this account and the Operations Manager must ensure that all team members are focused on delivering consistently excellent levels of service to all stakeholders, in particular members of the public. You will be commercially astute, with the ability to provide dynamic and inspirational leadership in a challenging environment.

This is a diverse role and you will need to demonstrate experience in the following key areas:

  • Client relationship building
  • Account Management and business development

What you'll do

  • Manage the day-to-day running of the operational team with full operational responsibility for parking and related services provided by APCOA to its clients
  • Monitor Sales and EBITDA performance, review and action P&L data on a monthly basis
  • All aspects of personnel management, including recruitment and selection, performance management and ongoing learning and development
  • Act as key client point of contact, dealing with client queries in a professional and efficient manner
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement and efficiency within the organisation
  • Identify opportunities to maximise revenue, reduce cost and/or improve operating procedures
  • Drive corrective action where service levels are not being met
  • Set and maintain standards of performance for all operational activities

What you'll bring

  • Proven multi-disciplinary experience in operational, contract, commercial and project management
  • Management exposure in a client facing role - minimum of 4 years contract management experience
  • Experienced in setting and managing budgets and KPIs performance
  • Strong leadership and people management skills; able to challenge, coach, motivate and train staff to produce positive results
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills at individual, team and group level and equally comfortable and effective in communicating with front line staff, managers, directors and members of the public
  • P+L and EBITDA is essential
