Automated Parking Algorithm Engineer (Burgess Hill, UK)



The successful candidate will have acquired professional experience in ADAS or robotics industry either through professional roles or internships / industrial placements.

They will join a growing team of enthusiastic engineers, as a part of a multi­location project dedicated in delivering the best in class automated parking and low speed manoeuvring systems.

The role consists of developing novel algorithms from requirement analysis to design and implementation through to testing. The development is of the highest quality to comply with strict automotive standards.

The successful candidate is able to work both independently and as a key team player as success relies on great collaboration. Regular positive interaction is also happening with local management and with other team members across the multiple Continental locations.


Essential ­

  • Msc in computer science, robotics, electronic engineering or comparable education
  • Experience with computational geometry and map data processing:
  • Data structures and manipulation of elemental geometrical objects (e.g. line segments, polygons).
  • Geometrical location and search.
  • Visibility problem, collision detection.
  • Advanced C/C++ programming skills, preferably in embedded and automotive area.
  • Very good Matlab / Python knowledge with algorithm development experience.
  • Experience in continual improvement and tuning of algorithms using automated and live testing.
  • Good comprehension and analytical thinking, strong mathematical ability.
  • Fluent English language skills.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.


  • PhD in relevant domain.
  • Knowledge of collaborative development and source control software.
  • Experience with Agile methodology.
  • Experience with automotive development process.
  • Good understanding and experience with machine learning algorithms.
  • Good understanding of computer vision algorithms.
  • Experience in developing and debugging object­oriented embedded software in real­time.
  • Advanced knowledge of Linux C++ programming environment (Unix command line, CMake, GCC).
  • Knowledge of MS Visual Studio C++ project maintenanc
