Who We Are Looking For:

We're looking for a Director Business Development, Automotive - who will be building business relationships with car manufacturers located in the USA: GM, Ford, Chrysler, Tesla & other new players as well as in a second step commercial vehicle manufacturer. He/she owns the overall relationship with the assigned customer. He/she is accountable for establishing business with the customer and for leading and coordinating all activities across the company. The business opportunities do not cover local (dealer) or national projects but only international projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Acquire an in-depth understanding of the industry stake holder’s strategy in e-mobility, the problems they have based on frequent customer meetings/interaction
  • Match it with the potential, strategy, products of our own organization
  • Develop a customer growth strategy based on strong insight and internal alignment on target OEM opportunity list
  • Win projects in HW or SW with the focus on co-development or contract manufacturing approaches
  • Being able to map the customer organization including all relevant departments, contacts, and projects
  • Establish a close and long-term trustworthy relationship with the customer up to C-1 hierarchy and across departments
  • Feeding our organization with required product input and concepts and maturing them based on Automotive OEM EV infra problems
  • Front-line and independent customer tender interaction, coordination across multiple internal and external stakeholders
  • Leading internal technical teams in providing needed input in multi-months automotive sales processes, leading to design wins
  • Steering internal organization to meet automotive OME demands
  • Supporting internal teams on project execution as needed to win new business with automotive customers
  • Regular reporting of activities and projects with Salesforce and other internal measurements

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in engineering, information science or a similar technical field of study
  • Min. 10 years experience in automotive account management, business development, sales, product management or similar area
  • Deep knowledge of the Northern American automotive industry and its politics, processes, and people
  • Proven experience of growing OEM accounts
  • Exceptional communication skill, able to represent the company on external events
  • Located on the East coast, New York or Washington metropolitan area
