Job Overview

International Parking Systems (UK) Limited (“the Company”), is a wholly owned subsidiary of IPS Group Inc. “IPS”), based in San Diego, CA.   IPS focuses specifically on selling parking technology solutions as part of its Smart Cities strategy  IPS is well established in the USA as a leader in smart parking technology with 250,000 smart meter devices, and is expanding into the UK market. 

The Company is looking for Field Service Engineers to oversee new product installations, product configurations, and provide ongoing in-field diagnostics, repair and customer service support based out of Winchester, UK.  Travel is typically scheduled during the work week although there may be instances where site visits are required during through the weekend. This is a customer facing position and requires strong communication skills along with a commitment to customer service excellence.   Applicant should enjoy innovative technology, interacting with Company clients, be loyal, and take their job, the needs of the customers, and the success of the Company personally.

Job Duties

  • Communicate with clients in troubleshooting open service issues and to provide technical support, including both phone support and on-site support if needed.
  • Install and configure new equipment, including operating software or peripheral equipment.
  • Advise/train clients concerning equipment operation, maintenance, or client specific configuration.
  • Maintain and update service ticketing system regarding service issues and resolutions.
  • Repair, adjust or replace electrical mechanism, components or parts.
  • Train new technical support team members.
  • Document project summary and project completions in a timely manner.

Qualifications Include:

  • Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing with business professionals
  • Ability to plan daily travel schedule
  • Ability to execute and submit expense reports
  • Ability to work independently with little or no supervision
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Effective time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to use basic computer skills to perform diagnostic testing
  • Available for stand-by and after-hours responsibility
  • Available to travel for support of other territories
  • Ability to continually learn new product service techniques

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Prior Field Support/Field Technician experience highly desirable
  • Proficient Internet and computer skills required
  • Prior mechanical or electronic assembly highly desirable
  • Technical or electronics training or degree preferred
  • Experience will be considered in lieu of degree


The successful candidate can expect to earn a salary between GBP 20 000 to GBP 30 000.
