The Spirit of the Position
The Assistant Manager of Technology assists the Manager of Technology in leading a team of technology associates and is responsible for performing system maintenance, monitoring/analysis and performance tuning; administering and troubleshooting system hardware, software, networks, operating systems and management systems; designing and running system load/stress testing; as well as escalating application problems to vendors.
Principal Job Duties
Configure and install operating systems and software programs on new or repaired CampusParc PCs, laptops, servers, printers, switches, or routers.
Administer the CampusParc network active directory domain, which includes adding/modifying users, password resets, shared directory access, audits, asset audits, PC moves, adding PC peripheral devices, driver updates, etc.
Administer CIC call center clients in support of the university OCIO department, including installation of new CIC clients, CIC user password resets, and CIC software updates.
Perform CampusParc Softphone system installations for new staff or resolve issues with support of LAZ IT.
Monitor McAfee ePO server for malware detections and investigate alerts.
Remove malware and spyware from CampusParc workstations and servers on demand.
Ensure that the CampusParc networks, servers, and all endpoints conform with security best practices and controls.
Provide cybersecurity training to all CampusParc staff.
Manage MDM (mobile device management) system for all deployed field tablets and phones.
Test, manage, and send CampusParc mass email communications on demand.
Update communication email letters and mailed letters when required (coded with HTML).
Manage/Support the current Campusparc Parking Management System (NuPark).
Administer NuPark users and accounts.
Continuously evaluate NuPArk processes and suggest/implement changes to increase efficiency.
Monitor NuPark-hosted back-office environment and submit trouble tickets when needed to Passport Support Portal.
Monitor all NuPark-hosted back-office jobs to verify job execution and processing and submit trouble tickets when needed to Passport Support Portal. Monitored seven (7) days per week.
Monitor NuPark-hosted WEB environment and submit trouble tickets when needed to Passport Support Portal.
Verify daily that all NuPark compliance handhelds and LPR devices have uploaded citations to the NuPark back-office website for parker payments to be applied.
Daily verify NuPark permit renewal email letters.
Daily verify NuPark initial/warning citation notice email letters and direct mail letters, delivered to Customer Care for processing.
Daily verify NuPark 30-day and 60-day past due citation notice direct mail letters, delivered to Customer Care for processing.
Create and/or modify compliance rules and rates annually and as needed.
Create and modify NuPark jobs to make use of automation that is available to perform specific tasks.
Create ad hoc database queries in support of information requests from various CampusParc departments.
Administer all Parking Compliance Associate handheld, tablet, and printer devices to include applying all operating system and vendor updates to devices. Submit trouble tickets when needed to the appropriate vendor support portal.
Support CampusParc Operations department during annual creation of new permit rules and rates.
Respond and resolve all NuPark and web user issues.
Perform all monthly OSU payroll deduction processes to ensure all OSU payroll deduction invoices/files are delivered on time and accurate.
Monitor NuPark/Genetec back-office client and Mobile Patrollers and submit trouble tickets when needed to Passport support portal.
Install Genetec mobile LPR system equipment in new Parking Compliance vehicle purchases.
Align and adjust Genetec mobile LPR camera equipment when required.
Provide IT support to the CampusParc Parking Compliance department when requested.
Maintain and troubleshoot all mobile Parking Compliance devices and peripherals.
Research false-positive compliance violations to determine cause and submit trouble tickets when needed to the appropriate vendor(s) to resolve issues.
Query NuPark database to deliver GPS information related to CampusParc citation appeal inquiries from OSU parker violators when requested.
Respond to Parking Compliance Associate mobile LPR/handheld issues related to gathering LPR reads/enforcement in the OSU campus area.
Monitor LPR Cradlepoint router and Zscaler dashboards and correct issues and submit trouble tickets when needed to the appropriate vendor(s) to resolve issues.
Create training documents.
Prepare and maintain weekly staffing schedules.
Other related duties as assigned.
High school diploma or GED required.
BA/BS Degree preferred.
Minimum 1-2 years’ IT experience.
Strong computer skills (MS OS, iOS, Office365).
Strong database background (SQL server).
Field technician background/experience preferred.
Understanding and knowledge of The Ohio State University campus and surrounding layout preferred but not required.
PC/Laptop/Server Hardware and Software Administration and Support.
Administration of Virus Protection and Security System.
Administration of large complex applications with an annual user base of 50,000+ end users.
Ability to learn new technology and systems quickly.
Administration of Active Directory Controller.
Copier and PC Printer Administration.
Administration of Phone Call Center System.
Administration of License Plate Recognition (LPR) systems.
Administration of Email System.
Solid analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to adapt quickly and effectively in a diverse and ever-changing environment.

Ability to communicate effectively with both IT and operations staff.
Willingness to work flexible hours, if necessary.
