We are seeking an Assembly Technician to become an integral part of our team! You will perform assembly line tasks as well as identify areas of improvement to increase efficiency. Responsibilities of this position is the assembly of complex and varying components according to established procedures and methods prescribed. This work involves identifying specific variations to each assembly and building each component accordingly. Involves differentiating the assembly of several parts, tolerances, and specifications.
Characteristics And Experience
A minimum of 6 months in a manufacturing environment
High school diploma or equivalent
Knowledge and competency in fundamental mechanical assembly
Intermediate computer knowledge including Word and Excel
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagrams, or schedule forms
Ability to solve problems
Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to communicate and interface positively with other team members and departments
Requires an organized individual who is self-motivated and can work independently
Must possess a clear understanding of general math
Under moderate supervision, this position is responsible for repetitive and non-repetitive assembly and testing of mechanical units
Disassemble, modify, rework, reassemble and test assemblies and sub-assemblies according to specifications
Will troubleshoot, calibrate, make adjustments, and test
Will follow defined procedures and processes using various equipment in order to complete tasks
May train, mentor and provide assistance to less experienced assemblers/testers
Interface with team members in order to solve defined issues and complete tasks
Will receive written and verbal instructions on routine assignments; need to read and understand instructions and escalate issues/discrepancies when they arise in a timely manner.
Able to accurately report test results to more experienced test technicians, engineers and their workflow specialist
Will use continuous improvement and ParkingSoft tools to help improve work environment and processes
Must be able to accurately use measuring tools, specifically a tape measure, micrometer, caliper and multimeter
Assist with receiving and shipping inventory purchases
Ensure all equipment and the work areas are cleaned daily and free of safety hazards
Maintain safety, quality and productivity standards of each job assignment
Must be able to stand and/or sit for at least 2 hours at a time
Should be able to lift up to 25lbs frequently and 50lbs infrequently
Other duties as required or assigned.
