Overview of the Role

ParkMobile is looking for an experienced manager who is passionate about delivering great user experiences and eager to help scale forward-thinking engineering practices across our organization. As a Web Engineering Manager, you will define and cultivate a culture of rapid iteration and experimentation, and you will guide engineers who contribute directly to solving some of our most complex technical challenges in business and consumer products. This role requires technical knowledge, leadership, and seamless collaboration with other departments. Our teams are small and work in an evolving space, so our managers must be comfortable guiding teams in a fluid environment that prioritizes continuous experimentation, iteration, and improvement.

What You’ll Do

  • Manage 3-6 web engineers across one or more squads
  • Define and cultivate a culture of rapid iteration and experimentation
  • Steer web development best practices in areas like CI/CD, feature flagging, testing, and architecture
  • Work with lead engineers to create RFCs, 1-pagers, POCs, and architecture diagrams/proposals
  • Work with one or more teams to define, prioritize, schedule, scope, resource, and solve problems
  • Help day-to-day productivity and operations function smoothly by driving questions to conclusion and resolving blockers
  • Facilitate team meetings (i.e. weekly syncs, strategic planning, etc.)
  • Conduct regular 1:1s with reports, provide mentoring, and manage career goals and growth
  • Provide direct feedback and conduct annual and mid-year reviews with reports

Who You Are

  • You have 3-5 years of web development experience
  • You have 1-2 years of management experience
  • You possess a deep understanding of the web ecosystem, including JavaScript, Node, React, HTML, CSS, and performance optimizations
  • You have experience participating in technical and architectural discussions
  • You enjoy working with people, solving prioritization and resourcing issues, and thinking about the big picture
