Business Analyst III (Charlotte, US)


About the Role

As a Business Analyst III at Passport, you will help drive the financial, operational, and technical success of Passport’s product portfolio, including Mobile Payments for Parking, Digital Permits, Citation Management, and Transit. You will support a Program Director, Engineering Director and respective Product Managers by gathering and parsing critical inputs to inform long-term product strategy while keeping the flow of new challenges at bay.


  • Assist in the planning and development of new product features and enhancements spanning the entire suite of products at Passport.
  • Collaborate with Product Managers, Technical Delivery Managers, Design and Engineering to groom a backlog of user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Participate in sprint demos, perform business acceptance of work, perform additional user acceptance testing.
  • Analyze transactional data, app metrics, and ancillary data streams in order to develop new insights and inform product direction
  • Track, triage, and help resolve defects and bugs. Advise on interim operational solutions with Product Support, Service Delivery, and Engineering.
  • Coordinate and liaise high stakes, ad hoc product development projects among clients and internal stakeholders
  • Manage a portfolio of features from intake through to completion.
  • Review new business contracts and scopes of work to ensure timely and complete product delivery
  • Prepare product training materials and documentation for use by customers and customer facing teams.
  • Perform and report on competitive analyses. Stay abreast of market dynamics, and suggest ideas for consideration in future development efforts.


  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field required, the company is willing to accept experience or a combination of education and experience in lieu of a degree
  • 5-10 years of prior experience n a business analyst role, required
  • Experience working with SaaS companies, required
  • Proven ability to translate between technical and non-technical language
  • Experience using JIRA, Rally Agile Software, or similar enterprise development tools
  • Extensive background working independently and collaborating with others
  • Strong writing and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong critical thinking skills
  • Interest in mobility systems and transportation policy
