Product Manager - Partnerships (Charlotte, US)

About the Role

As Product Manager for Passport Partnerships, will steer the strategy of our App marketplace and partner ecosystem. You will be at the center of all things partnership related, researching and launching strategically relevant features that solve important problems for our clients. You own the development and execution of strategic product roadmaps which should reflect market dynamics, incorporate feedback from both internal and external stakeholders, and help drive your business unit forward. You'll ensure customer and client feedback, market intelligence, and institutional knowledge are analyzed and infused into partnership product roadmaps. You will translate this roadmap into key features and partner closely with a variety of stakeholders across engineering, sales, and service delivery to execute against that strategy. You will be instrumental in helping Passport grow revenue through partnerships.

The ideal candidate has previously scaled SaaS platform partnerships ecosystems across existing and new markets and has experience with multiple premium, freemium, and monetization strategies. They have a strong working knowledge of services-oriented architecture and are very comfortable delving into new markets and creating a need.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the strategic vision, execution, and business impact for our partner strategy and integration pipeline, and app marketplace with clear goals on market uptake and utilization.
  • Develop a market-centric strategy working closely with existing and future customers to develop solutions within the management system that expand the product’s use to new users.
  • Conduct market research, identify business opportunities, secure funding and develop new features, capabilities and product opportunities using the management system’s expansive platform components.
  • Establish platform KPIs, utilization metrics, success standards, regularly analyzing data to measure the success of our partnerships and increase the partnership relationships over time.
  • Collaborate with engineering and product leadership to build customer-ready capabilities that allow new groups of partnerships.
  • Work cross-functionally with partners across finance, business development, and product in order to establish key priorities and drive impact
  • Serve as product evangelist, while effectively representing the achievements of Engineering, Marketing, and Sales to the whole organization.
  • Be the source of truth and key influencer to ensure what we are building is what we are selling by providing clear documentation, strategic rationale and supporting data for product related decisions
  • Influence your product’s business model by understanding which features deliver the most client value and recommending a pricing model that supports financial viability and growth.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in B2B/B2B2C product management, business development or commercial strategy
  • Experience launching new partnerships, establishing app marketplaces and driving strategic direction for a vertically integrated SaaS platform
  • Strategic and tactical product thinker with a track record of identifying new opportunities in a changing and growing technical and market landscape
  • Deep analytical proficiency and effectiveness working as part of the senior product leadership team
  • Ability to define success metrics in conjunction with business intelligence to track, analyze and report on key performance indicators
  • Demonstrated ability to develop deep customer empathy and articulate customer problems
  • Strong communication, influence, and cross-functional collaboration skills; able to create clarity and drive focus in complex and dynamic contexts
  • Demonstrated leadership, strategic thinking, and interpersonal skills (facilitation, communication, etc.)
  • Demonstrated success leading cross-functional teams and working collaboratively with stakeholders
  • Experience in leading new product development & discovery
  • Experience with Agile methodology, including software applications (JIRA and Rally) a plus but not required
  • Prototyping skills with Sketch, Invision, or similar programs
  • Ability to influence without direct management authority
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
  • M&A experience a plus, but not required

While you are not necessarily a developer, you may have tinkered and are familiar with development methodologies. You are analytical, data-driven, and you understand how to build a P&L from the ground up. You understand the connection between financial drivers and end-user metrics. You are effective at connecting long-term vision to near-term objectives.

You are detail-oriented, organized. Nothing slips through the cracks when you’re running a project. You measure everything. You are inquisitive, and you know how to listen and incorporate new knowledge into your product strategy. You know how to work collaboratively across teams in order to produce the strongest outputs. Above all else, you are also an excellent communicator, both written and verbal, and you understand how to effectively convey ideas to various stakeholders across the organization and in the market.
