About the Role

Passport’s Technical Integration Engineer is an integral, highly-visible role contributing to the overall success of Strategic Partnerships and vendor integration at Passport. You will spearhead technical project management for integration development with strategic partners, while also helping secure new business opportunities for Passport. You have a well-rounded background -- with emphasis on technical expertise paired with client and vendor-partner management skills. Your background draws these key elements from roles such as technology consulting, IT implementation, software development or product management.

Responsibilities

  • Engaging with industry partners to explain the value proposition and technical means of integration with Passport’s Operating System (OS)
  • Ownership of the onboarding process and validation of necessary technical implementation steps to launch industry partners on Passport’s OS
  • Participation in new business development opportunities, collaborating with business development, product, and engineering teams to evolve Passport’s API offerings and evolving the resources available to our partners
  • Act as the primary technical point of contact and provide support for partners during the engagement, implementation testing, alpha/beta, go-live, and post-launch phases of utilization
  • Become an industry expert on parking and transportation trends and technical opportunities
  • Develop a feedback loop of partner feedback and your own observations to work with Business Development and Product Management to evolve our offerings and increase the value-add to our city customers and industry partners
  • Partner with Product, Engineering, and Product Marketing to define scope, requirements, go-to-market strategy, and to launch integrations with immense value and high adoption
  • Strong project management capabilities; tracking status of vendor partner integrations and relaying those back to counterparts within Client Implementation, Product Management and other teams

To be successful in this role, you’ll need:

  • 5+ years of relevant work experience with software system integrations and/or software marketplace development
  • Technical understanding of APIs and other integration frameworks; hands-on experience and expertise a strong plus
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to clearly and thoughtfully explain complex concepts to diverse audiences
  • Knack for identifying patterns in process gaps and technical limitations that impede on seamless integrations and ability to provide recommendations for improvement
  • Technical payments knowledge is a strong plus. Ability to quickly grasp and demonstrate effectiveness with technical payment details is essential
  • Ability to operate independently with minimal oversight and drive project delivery with partners
  • Ability to create working proofs-of-concept of Passport API consumption is a strong plus (programming language is flexible)
  • Knowledge of load testing concepts and load testing software options is required
  • Knowledge of API security patterns, authentication and authorization techniques is required
  • Intelligent, hard-working and tech-savvy
  • Ability to build strong relationships internally and externally
  • Results-driven, detail-oriented and organized self-starter
  • Openness and ability to be coached, passion for winning, persistence and determination
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional stakeholders
  • Strong leadership skills with proven verbal and written communications skills
  • Familiarity with mobility is a plus
  • Familiarity with SaaS industry and software integration marketplace development is a plus

You are comfortable presenting a process overview, timeline and stage-gates in a sales presentation or client meeting. The quick evolution of software and technology to solve unique challenges appeals to you, and you are love to engage in “art of the possible” brainstorms with Product Management and clients alike. When there is a bar, you surpass it, only to ask what’s next and continue driving the overall excellence you live by everyday. You understand the overall importance of clear communication, emotional intelligence and its ability to successfully navigate a client’s expectations and outcomes. You think a few steps ahead of where you currently understand, defining a clear roadmap of where to go next for the initiative at hand.

You possess the ability to minimize distractions and maintain focus within in-depth conversations, extrapolating the details necessary to build the solution and design you’re ultimately responsible for. Clear, concise and constructive communications are a strong suit of yours and something you pride yourself on.
