Processing Team Manager - Parking Charge Notice Team

  • Salary £27,000 per annum

NCP, National Car Parks is the UK's largest car park operator, managing an estate of more than 600 car parks. This is a key role within the Parking Charge Notice (PCN) Team based in Central Manchester and reports to the PCN Enforcement Manager - the purpose of this position is to motivate, lead, manage and develop a team of contravention processors, ensuring a high quality, service delivery, delivering continuous improvement and develop & continually improve internal processes and procedures ensuring they are fully compliant with legislative requirements and industry standards. You will work with internal managers, external bodies, contractors and customers to deliver strong performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide vision and direction to colleagues and develop the team through coaching and feedback, driving performance and efficiency
  • Develop internal procedures covering PCN / ANPR (Automatic Number Plate Recognition)
  • Work with Data Analyst to action any improvement / recommendations to enhance performance
  • Review KPI's and ensure corrective action is implemented where necessary
  • Proactively report and escalate any revenue related risks to the Enforcement Manager
  • Ensure that individuals are focused on achieving team goals
  • Provide a customer focused service to all customers both internal and external
  • Monitor 'trouble spots', and educate customers in the use of equipment
  • Attend supplier meetings with PCN Enforcement Manager
  • Develop the team's skills to build and maintain effective relationships with customers
  • Actively build and maintain excellent relationships at all levels throughout NCP
  • Provide relevant data and information to internal clients as reasonably requested
  • Sponsor and participate actively in visits to operational sites
  • Assist in recruitment of appropriately skilled and qualified team members
  • Provide training to team whilst keeping online training relevant and up to date
  • On occasions where a backlog of reviews/appeals may occur, be available to assist
  • Work with suppliers to successfully bring independent appeals in-house

Key Knowledge / and Qualifications

  • Previous experience of managing and motivating a team
  • A friendly and confident personality
  • Ability to empathise, and build effective relationships with customers and colleagues at all levels
  • Ability to deliver excellent customer service
  • PC Literate to a good standard, knowledge of Microsoft Office products
  • Effective verbal and written communication skill
  • Effective listening skills
  • Strong inter personal, presentation and problem solving skills
  • Ability to identify root cause and take corrective action
  • Flexible and responsive to change
  • Experience of performance management
  • Decision making skills based upon sound judgement
  • Ability to translate strategy into real life plans for direct reports
