Job Summary

Under general direction, perform work using knowledge and experience specific to the program to complete work. Establish office procedures, standards, priorities, and deadlines, coordinate office operations for parking services program. Independently advise students, university staff and public regarding parking operations, policies, procedures. Ensure parking policies and procedures are followed in the daily operation of the office.

Job Duties

  • Manages daily permit processes.
  • Coordinates fee collection through the cashiers' office and the parking citation appeal process.
  • Processes parking permit payroll deduction and automatic renewal of permits for employees. Works closely with payroll and the cashier office.
  • Audits and maintains parking permit inventory (daily, motorcycle and annual hand tag permits); orders inventory as needed.
  • Monitors sales throughout year to assure cashier has continued supply for sale.
  • Verifies daily parking permit dispensers balance with the number of daily tickets and the amount collected for each machine.
  • Ensures adequate money is in each machine to function correctly.
  • Collects, analyzes, and maintains statistical information from the parking database for survey and planning purposes.
  • Processes daily purchases of permits and citation payments.
  • Balances daily transactions and prepares bank deposits.
  • Maintain the parking web site updating and developing information for the parking web page.
  • Develop and maintain reports utilizing the parking computer management system, word processing software and spreadsheet software.
  • Coordinate the database between parking system (Flex) with student database MyCWU.
  • Ensure parking policies and procedures are followed in the daily operation of the office.
  • Other duties as assigned

Supervisor Duties

  • Actively engages in recruitment and hiring new student employees;
  • Clearly defines performance expectations, ensure accountability, and provides ongoing informal feedback, coaching, and mentoring.
  • Ensures students have necessary resources;
  • Oversees and directs the work of students; serves as mentor, coach and leader, and resolves complaints or issues;
  • Schedules student employee work hours/shifts; monitor hours worked; approve payable time and absence requests;
  • Department Support
  • Attend meeting, record minutes, compose edit and type letters.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining parking lot maintenance and improvement schedule. Assist in review of policy and potential issues that concern the parking operations.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Experience working records management and reporting systems
  • Experience working with confidential and sensitive information and records
  • Experience utilizing computer software such as MS Office to create and edit documents
  • Experience utilizing e-mail software to send/receive email and schedule appointments
  • Demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service to internal and external clients,
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task while dealing with frequent distractions
  • No disqualifying convictions; extensive background check will be conducted.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Parking Services experience
  • Experience with T2 parking software
  • Experience maintaining web pages implementation and updates
  • Knowledge of RCW's, WAC's, department and University policies, procedures and practices.

Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule

Salary : $2654/month with periodic increases up to $3436/month

Schedule/Appointment : Monday - Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm (1 hour lunch)

Working Conditions

Work is performed in an indoor office setting with frequent in-person interactions. It is essential to be able to remain at a desk/computer work station for prolonged periods of time, perform extensive data entry and other computer-related tasks and create/maintain filing systems for departmental records. Some evening or weekend work and/or occasional travel may be required.
