Job Description

SKIDATA, a leading provider of access solutions for parking facilities and resorts around the world, is currently seeking a driven “hands-on” Field Service Technician to perform maintenance, troubleshooting, installation and configuration of the systems for our customers in and around the Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area. You must be able to show initiative, work independently and explain/understand product offerings to our customers. Must be willing to learn and keep up with technology.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Conduct independent system analysis
  • Perform Level 1 field repairs on parking access, software and/or hardware related.
  • Act as first contact regarding incidents and problems and corrects hardware and software problems on devices/equipment.
  • Properly identifies, understands, and troubleshoots all network devices on a LAN (router, modem, switch etc.)
  • Handling of incidents and resolving issues to the customer’s satisfaction.
  • Provide knowledge transfer to colleagues and partners wherever possible and necessary.
  • Continuous and independent improving of knowledge and experience
  • Properly identifies when higher level support is needed and executes troubleshooting instructions from higher level support.
  • Must possess aptitude to learn new technologies; proficient in Microsoft suite of software (Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Properly maintains vehicle and keeps it in good running condition.
  • Properly maintains his/her inventory levels.
  • Responsible for maintaining and filling out PM Records and appropriate Service Call Report Forms.
  • Responsible for transactions for assigned Service Effectively communicates with the Service Coordinator/Advisors and Service management team.
  • Accurately accounts for his/her time and all inventory tracking.
  • Comply with Service procedures and protocol.

Education/Experience

  • University, High School Diploma, or equivalent and four years of qualifying experience or an acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience using ERP software, a plus.
  • Knowledge of IT and software architectures (Client/Server, Cloud Systems)
  • Knowledge of operating systems (Windows Server, Linux)
  • Knowledge and experience with databases (MS SQL, Oracle) and SQL queries
  • Knowledge and experience with Cloud- and Web services
  • Knowledge and experience in configuring and troubleshooting computer networks and firewalls
  • Ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's, Associate's, Technical degree/certification, or Military experience in a technical field.

  • Ability to work well independently and in a team environment
  • Ability to work within a multi-cultural and multi-national environment
  • Intercultural experiences are a plus

Others

  • Fluency in English (written & vocal)
  • Fluency in Spanish (written & vocal) is a plus
  • Willingness to travel
