Summary of Position Functions

The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level providing support to the VP, HR. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: HRIS management, payroll, talent acquisition, new employee orientation, performance and compensation, benefits administration, affirmative action, and legal compliance.

Essential Position Functions

  • Manages various human resource plans and procedures for all U.S. staff.
  • HRIS Management: Manages and maintains the HRIS and compiles reports from the database. Keeps employee records up to date by processing employee status changes in timely fashion.
  • Payroll Administration: Processes payroll weekly and semi-monthly for all hourly and salaried employees ensuring accuracy of data entry including earnings and deductions.
  • Talent Acquisition: Conducts recruitment and selection efforts for open employee requisitions; Creates job postings and advertisements, reviews resumes, conducts telephone interviews, schedules in-person interviews, and conducts reference checks. Maintains master list of approved requisitions.
  • New Hire Orientation: Prepares all new hire paperwork; notifies internal staff of new employees; ensures compliance with USCIS Form I-9, periodically audits Forms I-9, monitors new employee activities to include completion of required training and policy review and acknowledgement.
  • Performance & Compensation Reviews: Updates, monitors, and maintains eligible salary adjustments / increases; monitors the performance evaluation program and revises as necessary.
  • Benefit Plan Administration: Monitors employee eligibility for benefit plans including the 401(k) plan. Performs benefits orientation and administration, including claims resolution, change reporting, approving invoices for payment and communicating benefits information to employees. Organizes and manages open enrollment communications and election process.
  • Administers COBRA for group health plans and FMLA.
  • Scout App Administration: Maintains data including new employees, updating existing employee info, sending birthday messages, posting and updating open requisitions, updating company information, removing terminated employees, and coordinating contests and employee polls.
  • Conducts exit interviews and provides recommendations for corrective action and improvement.
  • Maintains company organization charts and the employee directory.
  • Maintains personnel files in compliance with applicable legal requirements.
  • Workers’ Comp Administration: Reports, maintains and monitors all workers' compensation case files; follows-up on open cases.
  • Legal Compliance: Maintains compliance with federal, state and local employment / benefit laws and regulations. Develops and maintains Affirmative Action Plan & EEO Reporting, files EEO-1 report annually; and maintains other records, reports, and logs to conform to EEO regulations.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • May supervises employees in the HR department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with T2’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints, and resolving problems.

Education and Qualifications

  • To perform this position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
  • Bachelor's degree in human resource management or a related field or and equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Five (5) to seven (7) years’ experience working in Human Resources required.
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification or ability to obtain certification within 12 months preferred.
  • Background in employment law and other government compliance regulations required.
  • Must have excellent organizational & communication skills.
  • Professionalism and attention to detail along with excellent proficiency in Outlook, Word, and Excel are required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of principles and practices of human resources administration required.
  • Knowledge of employment laws and other governmental compliance regulations required.
  • Knowledge of T2’s software products, services, and processes is required which can be obtained through intellect, technical inclination, and dedication to gain such knowledge.
  • Knowledge (Intermediate to advanced) of various operating systems, software products (e.g. MS Office, etc.), is required.
  • Ability to objectively coach employees and management through complex, difficult, and emotional issues.
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently manage time / workload.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial reports, business, professional, and technical documents.
  • Ability to effectively respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers and staff.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to write presentations, articles, routine reports, proposals, and correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from management and staff.
  • Ability to speak & communicate effectively before customers and staff.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts and percentages.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of instructions and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and tactfully negotiate priority with end users.
  • Ability to work under deadline pressure and extra hours if needed.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

  • PHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license.
