Inventory Control Specialist (Burnaby, CA)

Essential Position Functions

This position is responsible for handling every aspect of inventory control, and ensuring procedures are followed within the Manufacturing environment.

  • Maintain and track inventory levels, including reorder points and quantities based on inventory usage;
  • Educate team on product inventory procedures to increase inventory turnover and eliminate loss;
  • Ensure adequate space for warehouse and on-site inventory and create efficient space utilization plan;
  • Assess and monitor inventory transactions/movement within the ERP system;
  • Act as liaison between the Manufacturing and Finance on all Inventory related items;
  • Conduct Cycle Count inventory processes to ensure accuracy and timely execution;
  • Schedule categories for Cycle Count inventory and maintain accurate records;
  • Lead and evaluate stock rotation procedures;
  • Reduce risk by identifying slow moving inventory. Allows for decreased write-offs/write-down throughout the year. Also monitor any loss of inventory by ensuring transactions are flowing through the ERP system.

Education and Qualifications

  • 2+ Years of inventory control in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
  • Minimum Grade 12 education. Post-Secondary education preferred.
  • Experience with an ERP system is an asset. Great Plains (GP) experience an asset.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong work ethic, dependability and a drive to complete the job.
  • Working proficiency with MS Office applications and internet applications.
