Essential Position Functions
The Mechatronics Engineer will play key roles in the development and implementation of design improvements to various products at T2 Systems. The Mechatronics Engineer will also be involved in cost reduction projects of various electromechanical modules.
As part of a team, be responsible for the innovative design and development of new products as well as maintenance and improvement of existing designs;
Model and analyze products or components using computer-based analysis tools;
Design verification through testing for conformance to industry standards;
The physical implementation of prototypes;
Conduct studies to determine the feasibility, costs, or performance benefits of new products;
Develop new electro-mechanical concepts for new product lines (electronics, printed circuit boards, sensors, connectors, cabling, etc.)
Design and develop test fixtures (electro-mechanical)
Test performance of electrical, electronic, mechanical, or integrated systems or equipment;
Ensure that products meet manufacturing requirements (DFM) for ease of assembly, consistent quality, reliability, and cost-effectiveness;
Select appropriate materials and determine methods of manufacture;
Processing of Engineering Change Request and Notice (ECR / ECN);
Implementation of design changes resulting from production feedback;
Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to purchase and expedite the delivery of key electromechanical components;
Provide support to the production team and manufactures;
Ability to take on his/her own projects as well to be able to accept instructions and meet tight deadlines;
Drafting as per industry drawing standards and ability to detail using GD&T practices.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechatronics Engineering,
Minimum 5+ years' experience as a Mechatronics Engineer;
Proficiency in SolidWorks is essential; experience in Altium Designer;
Experience with UL certification and knowledge of EMI/EMC and other regulatory requirements;
PLM exposure and experience preferred;
Some hands-on skills, basic machine shop fabrication skills (mill, lathe, sheet metal fabrication), and Quality Control experience;
Knowledge of material properties, selection, and sources;
Ability to justify design decisions with calculations, analysis, and written documentation;
Understanding of high volume manufacturing processes;
Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
Ability to multi-task is a must have.
