Essential Position Functions

T2 Systems Canada (T2) is looking for an Quality Assurance Engineer with experience in software development life cycles and enjoys working with embedded frameworks. This QA role, must be able to take on Point of Contact responsibilities and influence the direction of their assigned effort, its schedule, and prioritization. The QA team is responsible for the testing and deployment of the company’s pay station terminals, embedded software, as well as associated enterprise service offerings (SaaS).

  • Be proactive in testing Quality Assurance duties;
  • Strong Manual Testing Background in Agile Methodology;
  • Desire and proficiency to learn new tools and or programs to help in their testing;
  • Have a firm understanding of what role QA Plays in the Development Life Cycle;
  • Design and maintain a continuous integration tests and Testcases;
  • Review product requirements, design specifications, and acceptance criteria to build test cycles/ test suites with automation strategy providing long term product coverage;
  • Make use of current technologies and tools to aid in testing duties;
  • Work with team members to deploy and release quality products to our customers;
  • Manage test suite execution and ensure requirements are being met by tracking key metrics;
  • Plan, schedule, and prioritize project workload;
  • Create and perform Manual & Automated Test Cases/ Scripts;
  • Assist in determining root cause analysis of failed tests and ensures their reliability;
  • Participate and be a contributing member of Agile Sprint planning sessions;
  • Have the interest/ desire to learn hardware, automation testing in addition to manual testing duties.

Education and Qualifications

  • Minimum University Degree in Engineering or Computer Science from an accredited post-secondary institution (or equivalent);
  • 5+ years' industry experience in QA or Software Engineering.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Comfort with Python and C/C++;
  • Experience utilizing common and embedded automation frameworks;
  • Comfortable engaging cross-functional partners including development teams, system architects, product management, and Support;
  • Familiarity with version control, bug tracking, and CI / CD systems;
  • Proficient with Linux-based systems;
  • Automation experience with Python Build upon existing frameworks in Python and C/C++;
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, collaboration, and presentation skills;
  • Experienced rolling out and managing test automated suites;
  • Creation and maintenance of tools to improve test processes;
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal;
  • Strong Problem solving skills;
  • Hardware testing Experience is also a plus.
