Summary of Position Functions

We are looking for a Software Developer to join the development team responsible for SaaS web applications and micro-services. The ideal candidate will be extremely professional in work ethic and personal presentation, possess strong communication and organizational skills, with at least 3 years of web application development experience, and thrive in a fast-paced High Tech environment.

They will lead development of new services for the UNIFI platform and continue developing new features for Digital Iris in an agile environment.

This position will allow the candidate to work on a micro-service architecture environment using Spring Cloud, Hibernate, Redis, Kafka, MySQL and MongoDB. They will be exposed to different languages like Java, Python, SQL.

Essential Position Functions

• As part of a full-stack team, be responsible for the innovative design and development of new micro-services in a distributed system;
• Follow coding standards and best practices;
• Maintain existing products, improve the quality and their functionality continuously;
• Write high-performance, scalable, secure, maintainable and PCI compliant code capable of processing thousands of transactions every minute;
• Develop robust set of automated component tests following behavior driven development practices;
• Evaluate new trends and technologies for their usefulness and feasibility;
• Collaborate with other development teams for designing and documenting integration APIs;
• Evaluate new trends and technologies for their usefulness and feasibility;
• Work with Customer Services to improve customer satisfaction;
• Share knowledge with the rest of the team to continually learn new skills and grow professionally;
• Other related duties that arise from time to time.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering or related field;
• At least 3 years of professional experience developing Web Applications with Java;
• Passion for learning new technologies;
• Understanding of object-oriented and functional programming concepts and design patterns;
• Experience with at least one of the following concepts and architectures; RESTful services, distributed message queues, asynchronous web services, NoSQL and object-relational mapping;
• Experience with version control systems, preferably with Git and Continuous Integration workflows;
• Familiarity with any of the following: Spring MVC, Spring Boot, Docker, Kafka, Hibernate, MySQL, MongoDB, AWS;
• Familiarity with secure coding practices, OWASP Top 10 and CWE Top 25;
• Experience with Agile development practices;
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
