“Free Paid Parking” With Loyaltypoints

Brusselse Poort in Maastricht first shopping centre with loyalty-parking connection
Shopping centre ‘Brusselse Poort’ in Maastricht (the Netherlands) was forced to introduce paid-parking in their premises. Long stay parking from carpooling and office personnel took possession of the parking space for the shopping visitors.
Brupo_spaarkaart-(2).gifThe shopkeepers make a gesture to their faithful customers by giving them free loyaltypoints on the ‘Brusselse Poort VIPChip’. With these points they can pay for parking.

The ‘Brussels Poort VIPChip’ is a multifunctional loyalty card that uses a chip for the storage of electronic points. This ‘smartcard’ can be used for various applications, like a loyaltysystem and paid parking. The connection between loyaltypoints and paid park is unique in Europe.
BP_parkeer_1-(2).gifThe visitors of shopping centre ‘Brusselse Poort’ who use the Brusselse Poort VIPChip receive free loyaltypoints with all their purchases in all participating stores. Shops that participate are a.o. supermarkets C1000 and Albert Heijn XL and countrywide branch businesses HEMA, Blokker, Tell Me, ETOS, Delifrance, Kijkshop, Palthe and Jamin.

About ChipTec

citychip.gifChipTec Europe, the company that facilitates the VIPChip, expects that other shopping centres will implement the tailor-made loyaltyprogramm in combination with paid parking. The software that supports payments with the loyaltypoints is standard included in the parking equipment of TPA, WPS and Vialis, that is used by parking facilitators like Q-Park (market leader) and municipalities.

In another Dutch city, Nijmegen, the CITYChip has also been arranged for paying by on-street and off-street parking. The CITYChip is a loyalty- and payment card for Nijmegen and is also a ChipTec Europe product.
