4th Generation MySpot 200 incorporates many enhancements

Designated Parking Corp. is introducing at Intertraffic 2008 an enhanced single-space parking barrier.
My Spot 200.pngThe MySpot 200 is a true "green" product; Unlike traditional posts, bollards and gates, the MySpot 200 requires no external power nor solar energy. It captures energy from the weight of the vehicle that uses the parking space and uses this energy to raise the barrier after the vehicle left the space. The latest enhancement feature simplified installation and resilience to forced entrance or vandalism attempts.

MySpot 200 is engineered to obtain its operating power from a proprietary hydraulic mechanism that captures and stores energy from the weight of the vehicle. Because of this patented design, the MySpot 200 offers a cost-effective, user-friendly, maintenance-free solution to unauthorized use of reserved parking spaces, access ramps, and driveways. The FCC/CE compliant MySpot 200 is supplied ready to install and requires less than 30 minutes to mount. It may be secured to paved surfaces utilizing supplied bolts and anchors, or glued using an epoxy kit. No digging or site preparation is necessary.

MySpot 200 V4.5 currently in production incorporates larger mounting plates that allow simple gluing to the roadway even on certain asphalt surfaces. The pre-assembled pods which contain the mechanism need not be disassembled for installation; the unit is now shipped ready to install as is.

The MySpot 200 is supplied with 2 key-chain fobs that remote-control the barrier. To enter the parking space, the user presses a button on the fob. The coded command releases a lock allowing gravity to lower the barrier. When the vehicle drives over the lowered barrier, energy is captured and stored in the hydraulic mechanism of the PowerPod module. Once the vehicle has parked or exited the space, the user presses the button on the fob. This releases the stored hydraulic energy and raises the barrier.

Should excessive force be applied to the raised barrier, a self-resetting defense mechanism will absorb the impact and will disengage it from the hydraulic mechanism to preserve its integrity. When the external force is removed, the barrier will reconnect to the hydraulics and the barrier will be raised automatically.

Designated Parkings system is engineered for the highest reliability, and tested to 20,000 up/down cycles representing over 10 years (at five cycles per day). It is designed for use by cars and light trucks weighing up to 6,000 lbs./3 tons. The device may be confidently employed in varied indoor and outdoor public and private sector parking applications including offices, apartments/condominiums, hospitals, colleges/universities, airports, municipal and retail parking lots, car-sharing spaces and remote driveways. The device is not suitable for area where mechanized snow removal may damage the unit. MySpot 200 system may be ordered with built-in functionality to facilitate handicapped parking, or custom engineered for coin-parking applications.
