AeroParker Collaboration with ACI

Engaging with airport leaders

Survey ACI

This week AeroParker and Airports Council International have joined forces in a bid to gather vital research about non-aeronautical revenue to deliver a full report for airport leaders and managers.

Airports Council International (ACI) is the only global trade representative of the world's airports. They represent over 450 airports in 45 European countries. Their members account for over 90% of commercial air traffic in Europe. In 2013, member’s airports handled over 90% of commercial air traffic in Europe, welcoming more than 1.7 billion passengers, 17.8 million tonnes of freight and 20.7 million aircraft.

Nowadays there’s even more choice available for passengers so airports now have to compete much more with one another to retain and attract the traffic they need.

The survey results will highlight strong links between how organisations approach car parking management development and their overall performance. What AeroParker wanted to know is factors such as: What impact does off-site car parking competition have on an airport, How has pre-book parking income changed over the past 12 months and what strategies has their airport maximised to gain an impact?

Currently AeroParker is collecting important data from members of (ACI) to find out what airports really need from car parking and ancillary pre book software.

As a result, we aim to have a good insight into what airport leaders are doing and what they think works and also build out some engaging content to drive media interest, demonstrate thought leadership and use in our lead generation efforts.

Our gathered results will also be timely for individual managers, since the impact of competition between European airports and the rise in non-aeronautical income opportunities at their airport.

AeroParker used SurveyMonkey which is a popular online survey tool. We found the setup of the survey to be very user friendly and impressed with the flexibility of the software to meet our survey needs.

Each survey participant will receive the results once everyone has responded allowing them also to identify and measure best industry practices.

AeroParker will be glad to publish the survey’s findings and results on October Friday 31st.
