Greenscape's Canopy Airport Parking to Open November 24th, 2010
Greenscape Capital Group Inc. is pleased to announce that Canopy Airport Parking, the world's greenest parking facility, will open at 4:00am on Wednesday, November 24th, 2010. Despite the complexities of being built as the first lot of its type, the Canopy facility was constructed on budget and substantially ahead of schedule.
The 4,200 stall facility servicing the Denver International Airport (DIA) incorporates wind, solar, geothermal, LED lighting and electric vehicle charging stations into its leading edge design. Additional green features include recycled asphalt with asphalt made from recycled roofing shingles, steel recycled from scrap automobiles, porous pavement, and alternatively fueled shuttle busses. The project will achieve LEED Gold certification and is recognized as an official demonstrator site for the US Green Parking Council.
In addition to its environmental attributes, the project has robust financial projections and will serve as Greenscape's model for future green parking projects targeted for construction throughout North America.
Greenscape owns 81.2% of the facility. The project construction was funded, in part, by Wells Fargo Bank via a 3 year construction loan bearing an all-in fixed interest rate of 5.45% per annum. The operating partner at the facility is Propark, one of the nation's leading innovators in the parking industry, providing parking management and parking related real estate services across the United States.
In addition to the 5280 Club Canopy Rewards program and an industry-leading corporate discount program, Canopy has also partnered with Frontier Airlines to offer Frontier passengers and staff special offers and promotions when flying out of DIA.
