A PARKING PAYMENT SYSTEM USING CONTACTLESS CREDIT CARDS

The Visa payWave, which is currently undergoing trials in London, will be fully operational on the Metric Parking stand no. 01110.

The contactless credit card, which will be demonstrated to visitors to Intertraffic using a special version of the Aura pay and display machine, is a partnership between Metric Parking and CreditCall.

The contactless card has been introduced especially for low-value transactions where the user needs to pay fast. Parking is seen as a perfect application for the new cards which bring exceptional convenience for motorists who simply want to park and pay as quickly and easily as possible.

The payWave card pay offers users a superior alternative to all existing payment methods, including coin, mobile phone and even traditional chip and pin credit cards, whilst having the lowest cost of implementation due to the simplicity of the card reader.

Swindon-based Metric Parking expect 25 million contactless credit cards to be ordered before the end of this year.
