Allentown Transportation Center contributes to Citys Revitalization efforts
The Allentown Parking Authority retained TimHaahs to design the Allentown Transportation Center, a multi-modal bus transportation facility and parking structure that will accommodate public transportation service and parking in center city Allentown, PA.
The recent ribbon cutting on September 14, 2007 highlighted the successful teaming with LANTA bus service and Allentown Parking Authority. An event heavily attended, it was a day marked as a turning point for revitalization efforts in the city.
The facility includes a five tier parking structure with approximately 500 parking spaces, shell space for retail or restaurant tenants, an indoor transfer center for transit passengers, outdoor bus shelters, bus parking and surface parking.
TimHaahs is also designing the new Allentown Government Area Garage, which will provide essential infrastructure to support continued economic development and growth.
