Ampco System Parking Contracts with Downtown Kalamazoo, Inc.

LOS ANGELES – August 18, 2003 – Ampco System Parking, a wholly-owned subsidiary of ABM Industries Incorporated (NYSE:ABM), has been awarded a multi-year, multi-million dollar contract with Downtown Kalamazoo Incorporated (DKI). This contract continues a long-standing relationship between Ampco and DKI. Ampco will manage the daily operations of the municipally-owned parking system in Kalamazoo, Michigan, encompassing more than 4,000 parking spaces, including three garages, 10 surface lots and more than 1,000 on-street spaces.

Downtown Kalamazoo Incorporated is a private, non-profit organization. In conjunction with its affiliate organizations, it manages a full range of activities to benefit downtown Kalamazoo. DKI is implementing a five-year plan to improve parking in the downtown area in order to create an economic environment that is attractive to Kalamazoo residents, businesses, consumers and visitors.
