Another 30,000 Single Space Meters

Following selection through a competitive bid process, the City of New York, DOT rigorously tested MacKays product and subsequently awarded to the company with the most robust, advanced, and accountable parking meter mechanisms in the world today. The MacKay Guardian XL mechanisms as presented by MacKay Meters, Inc. are to begin being delivered and are scheduled to be installed into existing meter housings throughout the City over the coming months. The contract of award is a 3-year supply contract, during which NYC will replace all remaining mechanical based meters as well as older electronic meters with the more advanced electronic single-space parking meters, ultimately leading to New Yorks entire single-space parking system being comprised of the MacKay Guardian product.

NYC's testing process and requirements are known in the industry as being the most stringent in the world. Not only does the New York City Department of Transportation do their own in-house product testing, but the equipment being considered for procurement must also be sent to an independent lab to complete the entire testing process.
