Aparc Systems Awarded Street Parking Contract from Sausalito
Picturesque California Community Elects Parking Integration Experts to Give a High-Tech Boost
On March 17, 2010, the City Council of Sausalito, Calif. by unanimous consent awarded Aparc Systems Inc. the contract for its Parking Access and Revenue Control System (PARCS) and related parking lot improvements. The contract includes procurement of 20+ multi-space meters, wireless sensors, and pole mounted parking space number signs, making it the most extensive contract to date for Aparc Systems in the United States. With its partners, SIEMENS, Motorola, Parkmobile and Streetline City Infrastructure Technologies, Aparc looks forward to deploying the most advanced metered parking solution ever seen anywhere in the world.
The waterfront community of Sausalito and its visitors will see new eye-catching, energy-efficient, and user-friendly SIEMENS multi-bay parking Pay-Stations in the ground as early as this summer. But thats not all, says the General Regional Manager for the western region, Morris Chubb. We have worked very hard at making sure that every component of this parking system works together seamlessly. From the Pay-Stations, to embedded vehicle sensors by Streetline, to our TicketManager enforcement software powered by Motorolas portable handheld devices, to Parkmobiles Pay-by-Phone application, this solution will deliver to the City of Sausalito a parking system that cities across the US will come to recognize as the most optimal system available anywhere today.
Aparc edged out many other bidders with their hybrid, green Pay-Stations and hand-in-hand vehicle sensor and enforcement solution; two City initiatives to keep picturesque Sausalito environmentally sustainable and motor vehicle traffic moving. Residents and visitors alike can look forward to a variety of payment options: coin, credit card, debit card, smart card, phone (text and dial-in), and smart phone application. The days of having to run back to the meter to feed it quarters are over! A new day has dawned for the parking industry and it will shine on the small community of Sausalito just across the Golden Gate Bridge from San Francisco, the City by the Bay.
