APCOA awarded contract extension by Maidstone Borough Council

The contract was due to be re-tendered this year, but the Council has instead chosen to grant a two-year extension, until May 2011. Neil Gentry, APCOAs Contract Manager says APCOA is very proud to have been awarded the contract extension, which was proposed and recommended by our client Maidstone Borough Council and has been given formal approval by the council leader.

APCOA and Maidstone Borough Council have developed a strong partnership over the duration of the existing contract; the contract extension acknowledges the high level of commitment by APCOAs team and its commitment to providing a first class service for the residents of Maidstone.

The Maidstone Borough Council parking portfolio consists of 1200 public parking spaces in the town centre split between 14 surface car parks, 1 multi-storey and an extensive residents parking scheme. APCOA has also
invested in the Contract with the purchase of new Hand Held Computer units and supporting equipment to further improve service delivery.

APCOAs Civil Enforcement Officers (CEOs) will continue to enforce parking regulations in the area, in order to assist Maidstone Borough Councils objective of reducing congestion in the town centre and surrounding areas, whilst supporting the economic life of the borough.
