New Standards Drive Gold Plan For Continuing Success

APCOA’s drive to be the first choice in parking received a further boost after its UK business was recognised for its high health, safety and environmental standards.

APCOA’s management systems will now be independently audited by specialised assessment and accreditation company QMS. They will ensure compliance and best practice under the British Standards Industry (BSI) Health and Safety Standard OHSAS 18001, and Environmental Management Standard ISO 14001.

The OHSAS 18001 standard is designed to promote a safe and healthy working environment, which requires businesses to establish frameworks to identify and reduce health and safety risks through enhanced safety systems.

In addition, the ISO 14001 standard comprises a suite of requirements to bring about an effective environmental management system. The purpose of the standard is to help all types of organisations to protect the environment and prevent pollution. For APCOA, it will be to raise the bar on its overall environmental performance.

APCOA will now be audited annually by QMS to ensure that the management systems in place are being operated effectively and meeting the objectives set.
