Ascom confirms positive trend: earnings situation strengthened

Ascom has strengthened its earnings situation and anticipates a profit of between CHF 40 and 45 million for 2004 and an estimated revenue in the order of CHF 1,220 million. Net liquidity has increased year-on-year from CHF 55 million to approximately CHF 130 million. The bond will be repaid on schedule.
ascom.gifAscom anticipates a profit of between CHF 40 and 45 million for the 2004 financial year (compared to the 2003 loss of CHF 67 million). As a result of divestments, revenue is expected to be lower at an estimated CHF 1,220 million (2003: CHF 1,515 million).

Net liquidity has more than doubled year-on-year, reaching approxi-mately CHF 130 million at 31.12.2004 compared to CHF 55 million for the previous year.

The bond amounting to CHF 200 million, which matures on 3 February 2005, will be repaid from freely disposable funds

The 2004 financial statements and business outlook for 2005 will be announced at the Annual Media Conference on 9 March 2005.
