AVPM delivers valet technology to second largest U.S. airport

Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas, AVPM continues to prove itself the leader in valet technology. When Parking Concepts, Inc. (PCI) won a contract to bring valet service to the Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, the second largest airport in the United States, it called on Automated Valet to provide a customized operating system. AVPM delivered.
DFW.jpgRecently put to the test during a major travel holiday, PCIs DFW valet operation found the system fulfilled its purpose successfully and made a usually challenging weekend run smoothly. This startup valet operation is one of the largest and most complex airport valet services in the country, says PCI Vice President David Mueller. Other than trying to keep up with a large number of last minute arrival gate changes, our DFW-based staff was able to provide excellent customer service during this high demand period. We set records for overnight inventory, vehicles in, and vehicles out over the Memorial Holiday weekend. Obviously, we could not have achieved these results without the benefits provided by the AVPM system.
DFWHorizontalMap[1].PNGBecause of the specific challenges of the DFW location, Automated Valet created an innovative and customized system for PCI. One of the major issues was the huge scale of the operation. DFW is 29 square miles of terminals, garages, tarmac and 28,000 parking spaces. And its 14 receiving and delivery areas are not wired for electricity. This environment created many challenges during the design and development phase of this project.

AVPM provided a total system makeover with comprehensive network and communication solutions for PCIs operation including full integration with the DFW flight database. With AVPM, PCI can actually track the flights and deliver customers cars to the correct gates at the correct time. Combine that with 99.99 percent uptime since day one and AVPMs around the clock customer service and the system is unbeatable.

Selim Esen, head of Corporate Technology and Development at Automated Valet, says his team worked tirelessly to create a customized system for the DFW Airport Installation. So tirelessly, they actually integrated, tested and delivered the system before its deadline. Since this was a unique location, we had to provide a unique solution integrated with our already sophisticated AVPM product. This solution includes AVPM Mobile on PDAs through internet connection, including credit card swipe interface, flight database integration for up-to-date airport arrival/departure information, an online reservation web page running on the airports official website connected to the AVPM system which provides a Valet Boarding Pass for every customer, working all together, says Esen.

DFWVALET.jpgPCI has been in business since 1974. It leases, manages or operates more than 180 facilities ranging from 200 to 25,000 spaces including commercial facilities, offices, shopping centers, hotels, restaurants and hospitals. The companys main goals are to offer consistent professional parking services, promote its clients image and revenue, and provide a positive environment and opportunities for growth to its employees.

We are very pleased that we selected AVPM as our valet parking management system for the DFW, Mueller says. Since our initial day of operation on March 5, 2008, our staff has quickly developed the experience and skill required to understand the systems power. I believe we are now tapping into this power to provide our DFW customers with the best valet service possible.

AVPM, the only valet parking application of its kind. It is the first and only valet parking application to track, monitor, control and manage valet keys, vehicles, tickets, employees, payroll, accounts receivable and revenue, all in ONE system. AVPM is proud to use State-Of-The-Art Technology at all of its locations. For more information visit www.automatedvalet.com
AXIS211kit.pngBeyond conquering PCIs specific challenges at the DFW site, AVPM provides protection against employee clerical and operating mistakes, revenue loss, fraudulent damage claims and interrupted service due to technical issues. It monitors vehicle drop off and pick up, keys, and employees all under the roar and hustle of a major international airport. After creating this solution, we rigorously tested the whole application. We are extremely proud to have produced such cutting-edge technology for a client as progressive as PCI, Esen says.
