AVPM receives Honorable Mention for Innovation in a Parking Operation

AVPM receives Honorable Mention for Innovation in a Parking Operation category at the 2009 International Parking Institute Awards for Excellence

Denver, CO May 2009 With more than 1,900 attendees, the 2009 International Parking Institute Conference and Expo in Denver was a huge success for the entire industry.
Automated Valet participated as an exhibitor and prize winner taking home an IPI Award for Excellence Honorable Mention for its customized valet installation at the Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport. Trade show attendees were treated to live demonstrations of Automated Valets patent pending products and were impressed with AVPMs unique and cutting edge technology.
The IPI honor was given specifically for innovation in a parking operation. Automated Valet faced rigorous competition for this award which required the demonstration of an increase productivity, measured benefit, innovation and creativity, and adaptability.
IPI award.JPGThe DFW installation met those criterion and more having provided a comprehensive makeover with network and communication solutions and full integration with the DFW flight database. This system has been implemented as a whole and in part at other valet operations including hotels, casinos and other airport valet operations. The main components are the same, but each operation receives customized AVPM software and installation.
Automated Valets system, AVPM monitors every aspect of each operation. At DFW Airport, one of the major issues was the size of the operation; DFW is nearly 30 square miles terminals, garages, tarmac and 28,000 parking spaces. Its 14 receiving and delivery areas are not wired for electricity, an issue previous valet operations and technology could not address successfully. Before Automated Valets installation customers frequently lost precious time dropping off their vehicles and waited 30 for their cars to be retrieved. AVPM Valet Boarding Pass helps customers check in without wasting any time. With a simple scan of the barcode on the AVPM Valet Boarding Pass, the valet is able to collect information such as flight details, car information, and customer information including e-mails. On the way out customers can e-mail the AVPM System to advance request their vehicles.
In addition to solving issues particular to the site, Automated Valet also installed applications that protect against employee clerical and operating mistakes, revenue loss, fraudulent damage claims and interrupted service due to technical issues.
Trade Show.pngAutomated Valet Founder and CEO Ken Gulec says the honor rewards and reiterates his companys hard work and reputation for innovation.
We are proud of what we have accomplished. Our products are inventive and original, Gulec says. And this award reinforces our belief that the industry needs the cutting edge valet technology we produce.
