Bemrose Smart Voucher Launches Successfully At The Voucher Associations March Conference
A month after signing their strategic alliance, leading gift voucher provider BemroseBooth and payments specialist Smart Voucher joined forces to present their new stored value solution at the Voucher Association Conference.
The event, held in London on March 9th, marked the launch of the Bemrose Smart Voucher stored value offering.
Bemrose Booth, one of the event’s main sponsors, demonstrated the capabilities of the system on live EPOS terminals and on the Internet. Visitors were issued with a Bemrose eFriendlycard™ pre-loaded with a value between L10 and L50, and invited to visit the stand for a balance enquiry. The amount on the card could then be redeemed immediately in part or in full, with the money going to one or more charity of their choice.
Trevor Willis, Head of Security Products at BemroseBooth, said:
“The Bemrose Smart Voucher is a multi format solution. Uniquely, we can put a smart number on a traditional paper voucher, allowing retailers to run the system on paper and plastic at the same time. As leading security printers, we are able to provide not only plastic, but also lower cost alternatives such as the eFriendlycard™, therefore offering our clients a wide range of substrates. The eFriendly™ card is a board product ideally suited to retail, which answers concerns about proper disposal post redemption whilst offering cost advantages over the traditional plastic card.”
To demonstrate the online capabilities of the Bemrose Smart Voucher, which can be spent in store or on the web, attendees were also given a pre-loaded William Hill smart voucher, allowing them to place a bet online. Smart Voucher provides the infrastructure for the William Hill QuickCash service that is available in all its 1,600 high street betting shops, allowing gamblers to bet either in store, or via the Internet.
Andy Blundell, Business Development Director at BemroseBooth, comments:
“ At last year’s Voucher Association conference we presented our thoughts on stored-value and explained that we were conducting extensive research to find the most appropriate technical partner. We chose Smart Voucher because we believe they are the most innovative company in this area offering the most flexible solution. Just two months into our partnership, we are very gratified with the level of customer interest and we have already confirmed our first UK pilot.”
