Bids sought for parking management
SPRINGFIELD - The Springfield Parking Authority is accepting bids from companies interested in taking over management of both on- and off-street parking in the city, including enforcement and ticket collections.
The contract for parking management was advertised Monday, and bids will be accepted until 2 p.m. on June 30 in the Purchasing Department.
The authority's contract with ProPark of Hartford to oversee and operate five parking garages and five off-street lots totaling 4,500 spaces expired May 1. ProPark will continue operations on a month-to-month basis, pending a new contract being awarded that will add 950 on-street metered spaces.
