Bill Howie takes the driving seat at Central Parking System

Howie takes over the role from Jim Bond, President of International Operations for Central Parking Corporation, who temporarily assumed control over the UK and European business last year.

Howie will lead Central Parking Systems business activities in the UK, Ireland, Spain, Holland, Greece, Russia and Italy.

Howie says Having been in Logistics and Supply Chain for many years Im excited at the prospect of applying my experience to a new sector. Central Parking System is a company with great potential and Im looking forward to working with the team to realize that opportunity.

Jim Bond adds Bills appointment represents a significant strengthening of our resources based in the UK and I look forward to the continuation of our twin themes of strong client relationships and service delivery as vital components of our approach to business.

With more than twenty years experience in Logistics and Supply Chain management and several years operational experience, Howie moved into consultancy with Coopers and Lybrand and from there joined Grand Met, ending his time there as Vice President Worldwide Purchasing and Supply for Burger King. During his next role as Group Logistics Director of The Burton Group, he was responsible for the de-merger of the Logistics function and creation of Spectrum. He later moved on to become a founding director of Reality Group, the direct-to-home delivery business within GUS plc, best known for the White Arrow brand, and the largest business of its kind in the UK.

His most recent corporate role was as Managing Director Fashion and Lifestyle for Tibbett & Britten Group plc, responsible for all contracts in that sector in the UK and the development of Fashion Logistics worldwide. For the last two years he and a partner have run their own business, Variation Limited, which is a warehouse space brokerage, supply chain consultancy, and operator of logistics contracts.
