WAMITAB and BPA in new qualifications partnership

The BPA is pleased to announce its decision to partner WAMITAB (the Waste Management Industry Training & Advisory Board) as the new awarding organisation for parking qualifications.

The BPA is delighted that the qualifications for both notice processors and parking enforcement officers will remain nationally recognised, with the additional assurance of being Ofqual regulated.  This means they will continue to be part of the Qualifications Credit Framework (QCF) which enables continuous regulation to ensure consistency and delivery at a high standard.

Currently 800-900 qualifications, the majority in the civil enforcement sector, are awarded every year.  To reflect the growing demand for similar qualifications, WAMITAB will develop other qualifications for smaller parking markets. Addressing the challenges, WAMITAB have developed an Ofqual approved assessment model whereby centres can develop their own assessments to allow for regional variances.  This resolves many of the issues currently faced due to differing legislation across the UK.

WAMITAB provides an end to end solution from operative to management level qualifications in total facilities management. As a charity and a not-for-profit organisation it is dedicated to delivering high quality qualifications, online learning, technical competence and training materials.

Full details on the qualifications and assessment models available from January 2014 will be featured in the September issue of Parking News.
